geesh

apparently I don't know how to scan. Just use your imagination I guess! It's been a long day already. :)

And the Verdict is.............

TUBES!! Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but I know it is for the best. Here are some pictures of Miss Thang. They are supposed to be One year old pictures, but she is about 14 months here. Sometimes it takes us Moms that long to get stuff done. Holla all Moms! Cameron Rea......she enjoys long baths, her blanket, snack time, and sunset strolls around Briarwood at night. Guys, the quickest way to this girl's heart is jewelry. It doesn't have to be fine jewelry.....belts used as necklaces, hair twisties as bracelets and so forth. Better watch out, she's a pistol!
Also, thank you to all of your nice comments. We are blessed and feel honored to know that there are so many people out there who have taken the time to pray and think of our family. Thank you to all, it means so much!

It's Friday!

Well, as some of you already know, Cameron has had a horrible ear infection for the last 2 months. We have taken 3 rounds of antibiotics and tried 2 different types of ear drops to no avial. This whole ear infection thing is very new to me. Mason never had any ear problems whatsoever. Dr. Kirkendall is our family physician and I trust every word he says. Today when we went for our checkup, he recommended that we see Dr. Scott for Cameron's ears. Apparently she has ruptured an ear drum and the infection is just not going away like it should. I am not too sure how I feel about tubes in Cameron's ears. Just the whole thought of anesthesia scares me. I have heard extremely great things about Dr. Scott and I have no doubt he will take excellent care of my precious baby girl. Tuesday is our appointment to see whether or not he thinks Cameron needs tubes. So, if you would, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I know everything will work out for the best. I will leave you with a picture of my "favorite" daughter, Cameron Rea Combs. Isn't she sweet!?

"Fair Enough"

Yes, I admit it. I did it. I dragged my entire family to the Fair this weekend. We went on Sunday (the last day) and I can actually say with confidence that we had a good time. I had a blast because I got to people watch for 5 hours. One of my favorite past times I might add. The Fair is even better than the mall or an airport. I guess in airports you are probably more likely to see a celebrity than at the Oklahoma State Fair. Well, we did see Courtney Paris. She is a celebrity in my book! Mason had a great time. He rode the choo-choo trains with me, airplanes with Brent, rode a pony with me, and a camel with Brent. Yes, you heard me. A camel. I will leave you with the picture of "Rocket" the camel. Brent on a camel is priceless in itself. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Cousin Dray!

This past weekend we went to Choctaw to celebrate our Nephew's 1st Birthday. We had ever so much fun. Mason was totally in his element the entire weekend. Kristy and Darrin live on 10 acres with lots of trees, water, dirt, animals and all sorts of other creatures. Kristy worked her tail off to have Dray's party be a Barnyard theme. She even went so far as to get 2 goats, 2 miniature ponies, 3 ducks and 3 chickens for the kids to have a petting zoo. What a Mom!! Cameron and I helped her out in the kitchen getting ready for the party (pigs in a blanket, cow and pig cookies)etc..while Mason was outside with the guys. Anyway, the party was a hit, as you can probably tell by the pictures. Drayden is a happy, loving, wonderful little boy and I am so proud to say he is my nephew. We love you Dray!! Mason would say, "We love you Cousin......where did the chickens go?"

Introducing the newest member of our family....

Say hello to Peanut. She is quite the character. Brent brought her home to "show" me before he took her to the shop to be a shop kitty. Needless to say, she never made it to the shop. So, she has made Leaning Elm her permanent residence. The kids are pretty rough with her. It's a good thing cats are so resilient, otherwise I would probably have to invest in a kitten neckbrace because Cameron refuses to carry her any other way. Mason is too funny....he calls her Catty Cat. I keep telling him that Catty Cat is not her name, but he just ignores me. You can't imagine how many times a day I hear "Catty Cat...where are you? It's me, Mason! I won't hurt you (wink wink)" So, it is crazy around here. What else is new?

Oh Catty Cat......

Just a Reminder

Contrary to popular belief, eating and sleeping do not work together very well. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Fun with Cousin

This past weekend Kristy and cousin Dray came to visit. We always have fun when we get together. The kids really seem to get along (as well as a 3 year old and two one year old's can!) Cameron likes to take Dray's pacifier out and that really seems to frustrate him, A LOT! There was some screaming and fit throwing by all children....but what kind of get together would that be if there wasn't? A quiet one I suppose. :) Hope everyone has had a great summer. I cannot believe the school year is starting again. My how time flies!

"The Tuffest of 'Em All" and so forth......

Okay, I have been sitting here for a good 20 minutes or so trying to think of a good excuse to the lack of my blogging skills............but to no avail. I have come to realize that I am just a terrible "timely" blogger. On that note, I feel as though we have been extremely busy this summer, but I feel like I don't have the pictures to prove it. I have been a not so good photographer this summer. I have already told myself that I seriously need to work on that. My kids are growing so fast I need to remember to take time to snap some shots! Okay, note to self: Take more Pictures.

As most of you know, the Woodward Elks Rodeo was in town not too long ago and I will say that I think I have a little cowboy on my hands! Mason is all too familiar with cowboy boots (since Dad is a "farmer".....we have like 18 cows, in the real farm world apparently that is not a lot :) He goes with Brent to check cattle every day, and check on the goldfishies that we put in the stock tank. Mason and his boots are just a good combination. Sometimes he just wears boots and that's it. It is quite a sight. :) In honor of the rodeo I took it upon myself to deck Mason out in brand spankin' new western duds. New boots (just like Dad's) a new pearl snap shirt, size 4 slim Wranglers, and completed the new look with a belt emblazened with "Combs" on the back. I love my little cowboy! He looked such the part. Needless to say, he loved the rodeo, went every night, and everytime I drive towards Crystal Beach Mason asks if we are going to the rodeo and insists he change out of his sandals into his boots.

Cameron is growing like a weed and is full tilt everywhere. She is into all of my jewelry and she wears belts like they are necklaces. Last night we went to my grandmother's house for my Dad's birthday and the kids swam. Cameron is a waterdog in the making. I think Mason will be a good swimmer, I am glad he is not as brave as I thought he was. In due time I am sure!

Also if you were wondering about the pile of orange on our living room floor, that was courtesy of Cameron. So, be sure to eat Cheeto's off the floor. I heard they were way better with dust bunnies!

On an ending note, Congratulations to Katie and Annie! I messed up somewhere and I cannot comment on other people's blogs. Katie, next time you are in Woodward, PLEASE come over and help me. Anyway, children are such a blessing and I am truly happy for the both of you!

Meet my kids........

Mason, his alter ego Batman, and of course Cameron.
Mason is VERY into anything Super Hero. My cousin Sam bought him a "Superfriends" DVD for his birthday (Batman, Super Girl, Flash, Superman, etc..) and he has been watching it ever since April 26th. Yes, it is June. Needless to say, he really enjoys himself as Batman. I will ask, "Is Batman thirsty? Does Batman need a drink?" he responds, " I'm not Batman, I'm Mason!" Depending on his mood you never know who you are going to get. Saving the world everyday must be very exhausting! You guys, he even sleeps in this. I guess I won't have to purchase a Halloween costume!

Cameron is her usual self. Camera hog and a total princess. I never thought I would have a little diva on my hands. Forecast for the future: Cameron+attitude=DIVA. She will have a total of 8 teeth before her first birthday on June 11th. She is growing up so fast! Hope all is well and everyone has a great weekend! Cute photos of the kids I took this morning are attached!

Hello Folks!!!

Well, it's affirmative. I have been tagged. Thank you Britt! That's actually a good thing because I haven't posted in THE longest time and I feel really bad about it. The past month has been a little hectic and I haven't been a faithful blogger. I apologize. Ahh..what is that I hear?? Yes, my daughter has perfect timing. I can hear her singing to herself in her bed. Hold that thought, I will return. Okay, diaper changed, and bottle perpared....this should hold her off for awhile while I type furiously.

Let's see, I had my wisdom teeth out May 2 and I will admit, it was not the funnest(sp?) procedure I have ever had, but at least I never have to have it done again. Sorry guys, I made sure to hide the camera from Brent. There will be no pictures of my chipmunkesque face. I know you all are sad. Trust me, I took one look at myself on day 2 and convinced myself NOT to look again until around day 7. My mother-in-law was gracious enough to watch Mason and Cameron for 3 days so I could try to recooperate in silence. My three days were full of naps and gauze changing and all the other fun stuff involved when you have surgery. In a weird sort of way it was kind of nice just to lay around by myself and have Brent cater to my every whim. It only happens when I have surgery. :) Kidding! All is well now and I have 4 huge holes in my head to prove it! Am I the only one that wonders just what do they do with teeth after they cut/pull them out? I mean is there some big biohazardous bag full of thousands of teeth just sitting around? I should have asked while I was still under anesthesia. Probably a good thing I didn't, for 1. I would not heve remembered the answer, and 2. I don't know if I want to know!

Okay, I have also had two deaths in the family in a matter of one week from each other. They were a great uncle and a great aunt. I was not super close with them, but it is still hard to lose a loved one.

Also, I just want to say that I have received all of your comments and I truly enjoy reading them! I don't know if I am not doing something right, but when I try to make a comment for some reason it won't allow it. Trust me folks, I am on top of it! I will get to the bottom of this little ordeal. But, anyway, thanks again for all the nice comments and I just wanted to know they have not gone unnoticed!

Now, onto being TAGGED!

Joys:
1. My family (DUH) I don't think anyone has said that yet! :)
2. Believe it or not...Oklahoma weather
3. Waking up to the smell of coffee. I know, random right? I guess it just reminds me of my Mom.

Fears:
1. That I will have to bury a child
2. That I will have to bury my only parent left
3. Driving in a big city (not like Ok city or Tulsa) like Houston or LA or Chicago, by myself. I really don't do well driving in big places with lots of exits and toll booths and road raging people.

Goals:
1. Keep losing weight. I have been exercising for about 3 weeks now and I am starting to see the results. It is motivation.
2. Raise happy, healthy, well-rounded, considerate children
3. Meet David Beckham (his wife does not have to be around)

Obsessions:
1. Dove Original Scent Deodorant (yes, I am odd)
2. Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bar that has been in the refrigerator for a couple days
3. Johnson's baby lotion
4. Mexican food. I know I was only supposed to put three, but I didn't want my beloved Mexican food to feel left out

Facts about me:
1. I love the smell of wet grass after it rains
2. I never finish a bottle of body wash or shampoo all the way. I know there are all those kids in Africa....
3. I love animal print ANYTHING.

That is me in a nut shell. Enjoy!

I am posting some pictures of Mason's 3rd Birthday and a few other I thought were cute. Hope all is well with everyone and have a great week!

Happy Birthday and Earth Day to Me!

Enough already with the nagging! Billie, the next time you come up to our neck of the woods I will thoroughly enjoy smacking you. Wink Wink!

So, as most of you know I had the ultimate pleasure (ugh) of turning 28 years old recently. I have never been so under-excited for a birthday in my life. I guess I should have listened to my Mom when she told me the older I get, birthdays become just a number. Oh well, I guess I should just accept it. One thing I would like to share that helped me through my traumatic birthday experience was the little soiree that was planned for me by my super husband. (That was a major run-on, sorry!) We went to OKC without the kids (woo...I know, crazy huh?) and he bought me a new car!!! I was so excited. When I was driving back to the hotel I felt like a 16 year old with a brand new license hot off the press. Apparently I was smiling the whole way there and I had no idea I was until my cell phone rang and Brent told me I looked like I just got my braces off. Those of you who have had the pleasure of having braces, when they come off your teeth feel all slimy and you can't stop smiling or looking at yourself. Bad analogy, I know....that's all I could come up with! We met some good friends for dinner at a hip little restaurant and proceeded to go back to the hotel to celebrate. We had so much fun. I guess turning 28 wasn't ALL that bad! Mason's 3rd birthday was on the 26th and I promise I will have lots of pictures to post and maybe a little video or two. If I can figure out how to do it.......you know Me........it could be awhile....:)

For the love of BLOG!

Hello to all. After much peer-pressure and coersing I have decided to become member of the Blog world. Yes, yes, I know....you all have been just dying to hear about our KA-Razy family. Since I am a novice, bear with me please. As I sit here, listening to the sound of the opening song on "The Young and the Restless" I have to ask myself....what exactly is a blog? Who blogs? Do I blog? Am I now an official Blogger? Does conjuring up this story of my life on computer for everyone to read make it official? Well, after much thought I took the pleasure of wikipedia-ing the word blog, and here's what came up: Blog-(n.) and (v.)"to blog" meaning "to edit one's weblog or to post to one's weblog". Yes, folks! I have decided, I am indeed a blogger! Billie, I know you are so proud.

Well, this brings me to my first dilemma. Anyone who knows me, knows for a fact that I know zilch about uploading photos and such since I got a new camera for Christmas. Yeah, yeah, all of you technology gifted folks are probably scoffing at the idea of me spending all afternoon trying to upload quirky little pics of my family and myself . So, pics will be coming soon. :) I will, oh yes, I will figure it out. Until then, let me tell you a little about myself. Here goes.

My name is Alexis. I am married to Brent Combs, and we have two wonderful children, Mason (who's turning 3 on the 26th of this month) and Cameron who will be one year old in June. My family is my life and I am fortunate enough to get to stay at home with my children while my husband slaves away. Right now, things are pretty crazy because Cameron is trying to walk and Mason believes she should already know how. He pushes her and drags her all over the place. (Right now the photo I have of this very action would go great, right about here....hence see above section about uploading pictures.) I think it is a good thing that my kids are pretty tough. Cameron hangs right in there with Mason. If she wants to survive around here, it's a good thing she is thick skinned. Many bumps and bruises are in store for her I am sure. Courtesy of her brother of course! :)
